In Their Own Words
Siti Hajar Mahmoud
HR Director, Petaling Jaya
We brought in Aether Loom when we were about a month into a department restructure that wasn't going well. Communication had been patchy and managers were getting questions they didn't know how to answer. Nurul spent a day listening before suggesting anything, and the communication plan she drafted actually reflected how our organisation talks — not a generic version. Four weeks in, things were measurably calmer.

The Change Readiness Conversation was useful in ways I didn't expect. I came in thinking it would be a quick planning session, but the preparation brief they sent beforehand made me think more carefully about the change than I had before. The readiness note was blunt about a few things I needed to hear. I'd recommend starting here before any larger engagement.

We've done three separate engagements with Aether Loom now. The Capability Programme gave us something that has held up — the playbook is still being used by managers who joined after the original work was done. That's the test, isn't it? When it's still useful two years later.

Honest and grounded. They didn't tell us what we wanted to hear in the early sessions, which was slightly uncomfortable at the time but ended up being exactly what we needed. The manager support sessions were the part I valued most — middle managers here rarely get that kind of direct attention. Response times throughout were good, which matters when you're mid-change.

We were implementing a new ERP across three locations and hadn't factored in how much change communication would matter. The Transition Support Engagement gave us the structure to do that properly. I particularly appreciated that the advisor understood our organisation had a mix of Mandarin-speaking and English-speaking managers — that nuance made a real difference to how we approached the rollout.

The pace of the Capability Programme matched our organisation well. We'd had bad experiences with consultants who pushed things through too quickly and left before anything was embedded. This was different. The playbook was handed over at the end of a proper process, not dropped in a folder and forgotten.

Stabilising a Post-Merger Team Integration
Challenge
Following an acquisition, two previously separate teams were brought under a single reporting structure. Rumours about job redundancies were spreading, morale had dipped noticeably, and managers weren't equipped to answer the questions staff were asking them.
Solution
An eight-week Transition Support Engagement with a focus on equipping middle managers with confident, consistent messaging. A communication cascade was designed to run top-down, with feedback channels built in so concerns could surface without going directly to senior leadership.
Results
By week six, the frequency of escalated rumours had dropped. A staff pulse check at week eight showed 74% of respondents felt they understood the direction of the change — up from 31% at the start. One manager described the sessions as "the first time I felt like I knew what to say."
"Having someone help us think about the messaging before it went out — rather than fixing the fallout after — made an obvious difference." — Operations Director

Building a Shared Change Language Across Departments
Challenge
A professional services firm with five departments had handled change differently in each area over the years — some formally, most informally. As the organisation grew, inconsistency was creating friction and making cross-departmental projects harder to manage.
Solution
A Change Capability Programme spanning three months, including a discovery phase, three cross-departmental workshops, and the development of a change playbook and manager toolkit that could be used consistently across all areas of the firm.
Results
The shared language developed during the workshops reduced the time spent re-explaining context at the start of cross-functional change projects. Eighteen months after delivery, the playbook is still in use, and one department has adapted it for onboarding new managers.
"The playbook gave us something we could actually hand to a new manager and say: this is how we handle change here." — Head of Operations

Preparing Leadership for a Campus Relocation
Challenge
The leadership team of a private education provider had a campus relocation confirmed for the following quarter. They had done little to prepare staff or parents for the news and weren't sure how to frame the change constructively.
Solution
A Change Readiness Conversation was conducted with four senior leaders. The readiness note identified the key audiences (staff, parents, existing enrolments), outlined a communication sequence, and flagged two specific concerns that needed addressing before any announcement.
Results
The readiness note was used directly by the principal to brief the communications team. The concerns flagged in the note were addressed in the FAQ sent to parents. Two months after the announcement, the enrolment retention rate was above the organisation's initial estimate.
"For a single session, it gave us a surprisingly clear picture of what we needed to do and in what order." — Principal
